Singing Lessons

Singing is fun, rewarding, and is a great means of self-expression! In addition, singing promotes health and wellness through aspects such as correct body alignment and posture, relaxation, and correct breathing techniques.

At the HKPVS, you are empowered to reach your full potential, through a thorough knowledge and understanding of the vocal process. Heather works with a broad range of modern vocal methods, including Estill, Speech Level Singing, and Complete Vocal Technique, in addition to the traditional bel canto technique, and is able to draw upon these different methods to determine what works best for you and your voice.

Regardless of level, every singer is unique! Here at the HKPVS, lessons are tailored to the specific needs and interests of each client, in order to most effectively assist you in your own unique vocal development, and help you find your own distinct voice!

Come and experience improvement in tone quality, projection and resonance, range, breath control and support, posture, and relaxation and a release of tension within the body.  Build a strong, healthy voice throughout your entire range, while having loads of fun!

Lesson Structure

Lessons typically begin with a physical and vocal warm up, followed by time spent working on vocal technique to help build and develop the voice. The remainder of the time is mainly spent working on songs and repertoire, and lessons conclude with a quick vocal cool-down. Music theory and/or aural work can also be integrated into lessons, if you wish to develop these skills. Lessons are taught in English, but Heather also speaks Dutch, and is able to translate wherever necessary.
